For just over a year, Kanye West has orchestrated prayer performance groups known as Sunday Service. March 1, Kanye West decided his participation in Paris Fashion Week with a performance of gospel in Bouffes du Nord theater, with a choir of 120 singers. It is for the first time he brought Sunday Service to Europe. March 2, he shows Yeezy Season 8 collection in the bowels of the Espace Niemeyer, headquarters of the French Communist Party. Kanye West brought Service to Paris “to spread the Holy Spirit. That’s my job as a Christian,” – as he said to the media.
“When I first started doing fashion, everyone said ‘Just do a T-shirt, The Row just did a T-shirt,’ because people had to do a celebrity comparison. And we fought to not do T-shirts. And then I looked up and I was only doing T-shirts! So we stopped and just started focusing on making new shapes, new adventures; the pieces here—some of them are in the infant stage. They’re all new interventions, new approaches to apparel. After I did my first opera at the Hollywood Bowl, two weeks later we did another opera, then another and another. So each one of these things is a form of practice. And it’s just getting back on the horse, designing, presenting ideas, because we’ve presented so many things that have influenced color palettes, shapes of shoes; the shape of the 350 [one of West’s most successful sneakers], that’s becoming the most iconic shoe in the past 15 years, basically. And now we have these new slides that we’re doing and you’ll see these shapes start to affect other designers. So it’s just important.”
As it appeared Kanye West today imagine himself as a primary speaker of God, according to the clothes and concept he presented in Paris few days ago during the fashion week. There’s a rummer that he plans to run for President of US, and probably announce himself as a savior of people in new toxic era. “I am Warhol. I am the No. 1 most impactful artist of our generation. I am Shakespeare in the flesh,” – Kanye West. But we all shall hope not, and the singer will be just an eccentric person, who’d like to express his feelings.
