Olivier Rousteing surprised public by his Resort 2020 collection. He expressed himself “in the frame” of Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel, as if he wanted to inherit Karl Lagerfeld’s style and look. And surprisingly he succeeded. And there’s a certain ground for that in 1953 Karl Lagerfeld joined Balmain fashion house as an assistant, and left house 9 years later in 1962. Leaving behind archives of “fashion wonders” for the next designers to discover.
He modernized classic Karl Lagerfeld’s looks with “off-shoulder” kicks, mixed them up and matched with Mayan and Mexican ornaments. Olivier Rousteing showed some outstanding pieces with embroideries and knitwear.
