Tommy Hilfiger Spring Summer 2020 summer collection during London Fashion Week Fall-Winter 2020-2021 Ready-to-Wear.
In 2018 Tommy Hilfiger left Fashion Federation in New York, and since then he decided that he can’t care much about the seasons. Usually designer shows collection 1 year before, so media and buyers / stores can create the trend and demand and start selling. Tommy Hilfiger decided he doesn’t need this business model anymore, and basically he doesn’t care, and created TommyNow – the show where public can see the collection and “BuyNow” right after the show and the special stands or online.
He started in Milan from spectacular show in February 2018 with racing cars and super models – great concept. And it worked very well at first. But then couple of fiasco, and specially the one on Paris when people from California came and showed something for themselves, had their own fun and left with disregard to Parisian market or fashion, or anything…. No one really wanted to talk about it.
Although production of ugly and bad quality pieces for the last couple of years didn’t really made an attraction of usual Tommy buyers. Good thing that the traditional pieces are still available on-line on Tommy web-sites. But less and less. Market is lost, sales are dramatically dropped down. And…. quality is dropping down, and the prices are coming up. Starting from this year Tommy Hilfiger decided to produce cheaper quality, and double the prices, according to “to magic book” about how to manage the business issued 40 years ago. Oh well… he should really update his book and follow his own concept “Management Now” or something, as this management is no longer valid. Who wants to buy highly prices badly made sneakers and sweats?
The fact is no one really knows with Tommy Hilfiger today what collection she shows, if the collection is for men or women, or this is special edition, like resort, for example. So it is a show of TommyNow for the Spring Summer 2020 – season which is now, shown in London during the fashion week to show the Fall-Winter 2020-2021 season, and it is for men and women, and also looks like a resort, as there are all kinds of looks available.
